This article explains the steps to install Google App Engine on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Google App Engine
  • App Version – 1.9.89
  • App url – https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/standard/python/download#appengine_sdk/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://storage.googleapis.com/appengine-sdks/featured/VERSION

Steps To Install Google App Engine

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Google App Engine with the following command

    brew install --cask googleappengine

  • Google App Engine is installed now and ready to use!
