This article explains the steps to install Messenger on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Messenger
  • App Version – 0.1.13.1491443794-7b1777b58fef0bf9
  • App url – https://fbmacmessenger.rsms.me/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://fbmacmessenger.rsms.me/changelog.xml

Steps To Install Messenger

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Messenger with the following command

    brew install --cask messenger

  • Messenger is installed now and ready to use!
