This article explains the steps to install Plex Media Server on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Plex Media Server
  • App Version – 1.19.3.2764-ef515a800
  • App url – https://www.plex.tv/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://plex.tv/api/downloads/5.json

Steps To Install Plex Media Server

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Plex Media Server with the following command

    brew install --cask plex-media-server

  • Plex Media Server is installed now and ready to use!
