This article explains the steps to install Salesforce DX CLI on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Salesforce DX CLI
  • App Version – 7.36.0-b1c4e9c7c8
  • App url – https://developer.salesforce.com/tools/sfdxcli
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://developer.salesforce.com/media/salesforce-cli/manifest.json

Steps To Install Salesforce DX CLI

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Salesforce DX CLI with the following command

    brew install --cask sfdx

  • Salesforce DX CLI is installed now and ready to use!
