This article explains the steps to install Minecraft Server on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Minecraft Server
  • App Version – 1.15.2,bb2b6b1aefcd70dfd1892149ac3a215f6c636b07
  • App url – https://minecraft.net/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/

Steps To Install Minecraft Server

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Minecraft Server with the following command

    brew install --cask minecraft-server

  • Minecraft Server is installed now and ready to use!
