This article explains the steps to install Scala IDE on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Scala IDE
  • App Version – 4.7.0,2.12:20170929
  • App url – http://scala-ide.org/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – http://scala-ide.org/download/sdk.html

Steps To Install Scala IDE

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Scala IDE with the following command

    brew install --cask scala-ide

  • Scala IDE is installed now and ready to use!
