Easy steps to install seqtk package on Mac

Package Information:

Application Name – seqtk
What is seqtk – The only library dependency is zlib. Seqtk Examples. Convert FASTQ to FASTA: seqtk seq -a in.fq.gz > out.
Use of seqtk – Toolkit for processing sequences in FASTA/Q formats
URL – https://github.com/lh3/seqtk

Installation Steps:

  1. Open Terminal using Spotlight search by pressing  <command+space>. Type terminal and hit  Enter  key.

    2. spotlight search terminal

  2. Now, run following command to install homebrew (brew)

    3. ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null

  3. Install seqtk using brew 
    brew install seqtk

seqtk  is ready to use now!
