This article explains the steps to install Spring Tool Suite on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Spring Tool Suite
  • App Version – 4.6.1.RELEASE,4.15.0
  • App url – https://spring.io/tools
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://github.com/spring-projects/sts4/releases.atom

Steps To Install Spring Tool Suite

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Spring Tool Suite with the following command

    brew install --cask springtoolsuite

  • Spring Tool Suite is installed now and ready to use!
