This article explains the steps to install Xamarin Studio on MAC OSX using homebrew cask

  • App Name – Xamarin Studio
  • App Version – 6.3.0.864
  • App url – https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/visual-studio-mac/
  • App dmg file – packagedmglink
  • App appcast link – https://xampubdl.blob.core.windows.net/static/installer_assets/v3/Mac/Universal/InstallationManifest.xml

Steps To Install Xamarin Studio

  • Open Spotlight search using “command + space” button and type “Terminal“. Then press “return/enter” key. This will open terminal.

  • Run the following command in terminal to install brew cask

    ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null

    Install brew cask on mac

  • Now install Xamarin Studio with the following command

    brew install --cask xamarin-studio

  • Xamarin Studio is installed now and ready to use!
